Veterinary & Nutrition Disclaimer
Last updated: July 29, 2026
VeraBowl provides nutritional guidance and educational tools. It is not veterinary advice and is not a substitute for care from a licensed veterinarian.
Not veterinary advice
The recipes, calculators, and reports on VeraBowl are informational estimates generated by a software model. They are not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or prescription, and they do not replace an examination by a licensed veterinarian who knows your individual animal.
Always consult your veterinarian before making a significant change to your pet’s diet — especially for growing puppies and kittens, pregnant or nursing animals, or pets with any medical condition (kidney, liver, heart, pancreatitis, allergies, and so on).
Homemade diets carry real risks
Home-prepared pet food can be nutritionally incomplete or unbalanced if ingredients, amounts, or supplements are changed. Deficiencies and excesses can take months to show and can cause serious harm.
Follow the recipe and the balancing supplement amounts exactly. Do not substitute ingredients, skip the supplement, or add extras beyond the treat allowance without re-checking the recipe.
About our nutrient modeling
Our engine models recipes against published AAFCO nutrient profiles for dogs and cats using ingredient data from public databases. Modeling is an estimate: real ingredients vary, cooking changes nutrient availability, and individual animals differ.
VeraBowl is a pre-launch product. Our supplement premix values are placeholders pending a signed veterinary nutritionist review and real product analysis. We do not currently make a formal claim of AAFCO “complete and balanced” certification for any physical product.
Emergencies
If your pet is unwell, in distress, or may have eaten something dangerous, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not rely on this website in an emergency.
